RCS Parent Update- March 27, 2020

The county and municipal governments of Rutherford County executed a Joint Supplemental Proclamation of a State of Emergency this morning that includes a local stay-at-home order, effective from 6:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2020, through 6:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2020. Late this afternoon, Governor Roy Cooper announced Executive Order No. 121 that includes a statewide stay-at-home order, which begins at 5:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2020, and remains in effect for thirty (30) days unless repealed, replaced, or rescinded by another applicable Executive Order. In anticipation of questions you may have, RCS wants to provide guidance about the application of the local Proclamation and statewide Executive Order to Rutherford County Schools' remote learning, food service, and student support programs.

During an emergency management briefing earlier this week, Governor Roy Cooper announced through Executive Order No. 120 that North Carolina’s public schools will remain closed for students until at least Friday, May 15, 2020.
