Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
This is our last week of the 23-24 school year. Tomorrow is Field Day for all pre-k, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students. Tuesday is Field Day for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Our pre-k graduation will be held on Wednesday and our 5th grade graduation will take place on Friday. All classes will have an Awards Day this week. You will receive information from your child's teacher regarding the day and time for their Awards Day. This Friday is the last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon. Please make arrangements to pick your child up at this time or have someone at the bus stop for them. Thank you all for your support during my first year at Forest City-Dunbar. Have a great week!

Happy Memorial Day! We are thankful for those that have served, and remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This week our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will take their EOGs. On Wednesday 3rd and 4th graders will take their reading EOG and 5th grade will begin their testing rotation. 5th grade only will test on Thursday and follow their rotation. On Friday 3rd and 4th graders will take their math EOG and 5th grade will take the final test in their rotation. Please make sure your child is well-rested, on time for school and ready to do their very best on their tests. Friday, June 7th is the last day of school for our students. Students will release at 12:00 pm that day. As always thank you for your support and please contact us with any questions.

On Wednesday of this week our 5th grade students will be traveling to Hickory for a Hickory Crawdads baseball game. Our Kindergarten students will be MAP testing on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday students may purchase a Serendipity Snowball for $2. Yearbooks are on sale for $15. Please fill out the form that was sent home with your student and return it with the money to purchase a yearbook. Thank you for your support and have a great week!

I hope you all have had a great weekend!
This week at Forest City-Dunbar our students will have an early dismissal day on Tuesday. Students will be dismissed at 12:00pm. Please make arrangements to pick your child up from school at 12:00 if they are a car rider, and have someone ready to get your child off of the bus if they are a bus rider. Also this week our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be taking their MAP assessments. They will take reading on Wednesday and Math on Thursday. Our 4th grade students will be going to Discovery Place in Charlotte on Friday and our 5th grade students will be going to visit East Rutherford Middle School on Friday. If you have a current 5th grader the following message is for you:

I hope you all have had a great weekend, and have been able to enjoy the beautiful weather! This week our 3rd and 5th graders will take NC Check-Ins. Both grade levels will take reading NC Check-Ins on Tuesday and on Wednesday 3rd grade will take their math NC Check-In and 5th grade will take science. On Thursday of this week some of our students will be participating in Special Olympics. We hope they have a great day! This Friday students can purchase a Serendipity Snowball for $2.
