Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
We have several events going on this week. Our Santa Shop will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday if your child would like to make any purchases. The Jail and Bail Fundraiser will take place on Friday, December 8th. We are still raising money for this event to support the "Shop with the Sheriff" program. You can send money to school with your child to be placed in a collection jar in the main office. Any amount, no matter how small, will help. We also have the Toys for Tots campaign happening at this time. Your child can purchase a paper train for $1.00 to go towards this campaign. On Tuesday, our 2nd grade will be going to the Schiele Museum, and on Thursday, our 1st and 3rd grade will be going to the Foundation at ICC to see the Nutcracker performance. We are looking forward to a great two weeks before our break. As always, thank you for your support! Have a great week!
Good Evening Forest-City Dunbar Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving holiday! This week our Santa Shop will be open for shopping on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students that bring money will be able to shop for gifts. A flyer was sent home with your child about the shop. Also this week we will have MAP testing. All students will take the MAP reading assessment on Wednesday and the MAP math assessment on Thursday. Please make sure your child is in school and on time on these days. The Jail and Bail Fundraiser is taking place now. We need to raise $500 to have me put in jail and $500 to bail me out. All money collected for this fundraiser will go towards the Shop with the Sheriff program. Our Toys for Tots campaign is also going on now. Paper trains cost $1.00 and we will write your child's name on it and display it within the school. All proceeds will go towards children in this county to receive Christmas presents. Thank you all for your support, and we hope you have a great week!
Good Evening Forest-City Dunbar Families,
There will only be two days of school this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
We hope that you and your families enjoy time with family and friends.
Due to recent policy changes, Rutherford County Schools has revised the student medical history form to reflect changes. Revised forms will be sent home this week. Please pay particular attention to the area labeled student health services where you will indicate your preference and authorization of school health screenings and routine care. Updated forms should be returned as soon as possible.
I am thankful for each of you and the support that you give to Forest City-Dunbar. Have a great night!
Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
On Thursday, November 16th, we will have our Thanksgiving lunch. Parents and Guardians are invited to come and eat with your child. The cost of the lunch will be $4. Please turn in the paper that was sent home with your child to indicate the number of people attending so we can plan accordingly. We look forward to having you!
This is a reminder of our school uniform policy. Your child may wear the colors of black, navy blue, gray, khaki/tan and white. Blue jeans and hoodies/jackets, shirts, pants with large logos or prints are not allowed. If your student is not dressed according to our uniform policy, we will have them change into extra uniform clothing that we have, and then they will change back into their own clothing at the end of the day. If you have any questions regarding our uniform policy please contact the school office.
Thank you all for your support! Have a great week!
Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
Thank you all for a great Monster Make-it, Take-it/ Fall Festival! It was a very successful event and we appreciate those of you that joined us.
Please remember that no transportation changes will be taken after 2:45pm. If you would like for your child to go home a different way from the way they normally do, then you will need to contact the office no later than 2:45. We cannot take changes as you come through the car rider line in the afternoon. We appreciate your help with this. Also remember that tardies in the morning and early checkouts in the afternoon lead to a loss of valuable instructional time. Please keep tardies and early checkouts to a minimum. As always, we appreciate your support. Have a great week!
