Week of April 15th-19th

Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
I hope you all have had a great weekend, and have been able to enjoy the beautiful weather! This week our 3rd and 5th graders will take NC Check-Ins. Both grade levels will take reading NC Check-Ins on Tuesday and on Wednesday 3rd grade will take their math NC Check-In and 5th grade will take science. On Thursday of this week some of our students will be participating in Special Olympics. We hope they have a great day! This Friday students can purchase a Serendipity Snowball for $2. As always thank you for your support!

Week of April 8th-12th

Good evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
I hope that you all have had a great break! We have missed the children, and we look forward to having everyone back in the building tomorrow. This week we will have a Science Night on Thursday, April 11th from 5:30-7:00. We encourage families to come and take part in this event. Report cards will be sent home on Friday of this week. As a reminder, our school day starts at 8:15. Students that arrive after 8:15 are considered tardy and will need to be walked in to the building by an adult. Also, our dismissal time is 3:15. We highly discourage early check-outs, as this takes away from instructional time. Thank you all for your support!

Information for Parents | SUN Bucks Benefits

A new food assistance program for school children. Starting this summer, families that qualify can expect to receive $120 per eligible child in grocery-buying benefits on a debit-like card. These benefits can be used to purchase food at retailers that accept EBT, including most major grocery stores.

IMPORTANT: Some families will get benefits automatically sent to the mailing address in their child’s school record. Update your child’s mailing address by March 28th by contacting your child's school.

Un nuevo programa de asistencia alimentaria para los niños en edad escolar. Week of March 11th-15th

Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
Tomorrow, March 11th is a professional development day for teachers, and there will be no school for students. This Thursday, March 14th is our Lucky Prince dance sponsored by PTO. The dance will take place from 5:30-7:30. On Friday, March 15th, students may purchase a Serendipity Snowball for $2.00. Running Club will start this week. Students may stay for Running Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:15.In order to stay, student must bring back a signed permission slip. It is open for students from 2nd-5th grade. Our spring intersession will begin on Monday, March 18th and students will return to school on Monday, April 8th. Thank you all for your support! Have a great week!

Week of March 4th-8th

Good Evening Forest City-Dunbar Families,
We are looking forward to an exciting week celebrating Read Across America week. Each day this week we will have dress up days. Monday students may wear hats, Tuesday is pajama day, Wednesday students can wear their favorite color, Thursday is dress to impress day and Friday students may dress as their favorite book character. Spring pictures will be taken on Thursday. These pictures are prepay only. You may prepay online or in person. Next Monday, March 11th is a professional development day for teachers and there will be no school for students. As always, thank you for your support and have a great week!
