We will be participating in the Kids Heart Challenge for most of the month of February to support the American Heart Association. We had a kickoff event last Wednesday to get students excited and help them know what to do to help this worthy cause. Thank you for your support as we raise money for this worthy cause.
Third, fourth, and fifth graders will take NC Checkin tests in Reading and Math this week. These are multiple choice tests that help teachers to know which standards students have mastered and which they need to work on. The Reading NC Checkin will be Tuesday, February 7 and the Math NC Checkin will be Wednesday, February 8.
Students will be allowed to purchase an Icee from the Serendipity Snowballs truck Friday, February 10 beginning at 12:45. Icees are $2 each. Students are asked to pay and make their choice of flavor before Friday, February 10. Icee flavor choices are Tiger's Blood, Blue Raspberry, Sour Apple or Grape. Please send money with your child before Friday!
There will be NO Young Scholars After School Program this Thursday, February 9 due to a faculty meeting.

The Young Scholars After School Program will host a Family Bowling Night at FC-Dunbar on Wednesday, February 15 at 4:30.
PTO will host a Father / Daughter Dance on Thursday, February 16 from 5:30-7:30.
