Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders will take MAP tests this week. This is the third MAP test students have taken this year. Results will help us to know how students have progressed in Reading and Math skills this school year. The K-2 Reading MAP test will be Tuesday, May 17 and the Math MAP test will be Wednesday, May 18. Testing begins at 8:45 so be sure your child is on time for school each day.
We will host a Parent Night this Thursday, May 19 from 5:00-7:00. Parents are invited to attend 5 brief information sessions on the topics of the Attendance Policy, Behavior Expectations, the Leader in Me, Uniform Guidelines, and How to Help Your Child Be a Better Reader. We will have childcare for FC-Dunbar students so parents can focus while attending these sessions. Check-in is at 5:00 and the first session begins at 5:10. Please plan to attend all sessions.
FREE pizza, cookies and drinks will be served after all sessions are complete. While parents of 5th graders are welcome, these sessions will focus on topics relevant for next school year. We hope to see you on Thursday evening.
There is no more Young Scholars after school program for the remainder of this school year. Please be sure to communicate with your child's teacher how you plan for them to get home at regular dismissal time for the remainder of the year.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. Children who turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2022 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for next school year. Parents and guardians can stop by the school during regular school hours to pick up a kindergarten registration packet.
