There will be no school Monday, April 18 due to the Easter holiday. Regular school days will resume on Tuesday, April 19.
Due to a shortage of tutoring staff because of spring break for the rest of the district, there will be NO Young Scholars after school program this week, April 19-21.
Spring picture day will be this Wednesday, April 20. This picture day is prepay only. Only those students who pay for pictures will have their photo made on Wednesday. Be sure to send in your picture order by Wednesday morning. Students who are having their picture made may wear an outfit other than their uniform that day. If you need another order form, please contact the school.
5th graders will take the Science NC Checkin on Thursday, April 21. This assessment will help teachers know which science standards students know and what they still need to work on.
We are partnering with Bradley's to offer the opportunity to purchase Forest City - Dunbar shirts and hoodies again. Remember that FCD t-shirts can be worn on Fridays and FCD hoodies of any color can be worn over an approved uniform shirt any day.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. Children who turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2022 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for next school year. Parents and guardians can stop by the school during regular school hours to pick up a kindergarten registration packet.
Kindergarten Orientation will be at FC-Dunbar on Thursday, April 28 from 4:00-6:00. This will be an opportunity for next year's kindergartner's to see the school, meet the teachers, ride a school bus, and learn more about what to expect when they start school. Parents will be given information about our school, expectations for their child as they begin kindergarten, and ways they can make sure students will be prepared to start school.
The Leader of the Pack 5k is Back! This event will be held May 14, 2022 at 8:00AM at McNair Field, Forest City. The cost to run in the 5K is $25 for Adults and $10 for student/child. Register by May 2 and receive a LOTP5k 2022 t-shirt!
