COVID-19 mitigation procedures have been updated effective Monday, February 21 to allow the optional use of face coverings for students, staff and visitors on all RCS campuses. Additionally, there is new relaxed guidance regarding exclusion from school due to exposure to COVID-19. Be aware that these changes do NOT apply to PreK classrooms, where students, staff and visitors still must wear face coverings. Also, drivers and passengers on all school buses are still required to wear face coverings while on the bus. Please encourage your child to bring and keep up with their face mask if they ride a bus. Although schools on the regular Rutherford County Schools calendar have a teacher workday with no school for students this Friday, February 25, Forest City-Dunbar has a regular school day on Friday. Friday, February 25 will be a regular school day for our students.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. Children who turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2022 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for next school year. Parents and guardians can stop by the school during regular school hours to pick up a kindergarten registration packet.
Also, Kinderpalooza is this Tuesday! This is a fun event put on by Rutherford County Schools to get rising kindergarteners excited about starting school. Kinderpalooza will be Tuesday, February 22 from 4:00-7:00 at the Foundation at Isothermal Community College.
Forest City - Dunbar shirts and hoodies are on sale now. Order your Forest City-Dunbar shirts and/or hoodies online by following the link below. Shirts may be worn only on FCD spirit days.
However, hoodies may be worn daily in the classroom over their uniform shirt. Order some for your whole family to show your FCD pride! Orders will close on February 28th. Shirts will be delivered to the school and brought to your child’s classroom after the order window closes.
