Monday, October 11 is a Required Teacher Workday - No School for Students
Tuesday, October 12 Students return to school from intersession break to begin the 2nd grading period.
Thursday, October 14 Report Cards for the 1st grading period go home.
Tuesday, October 12 Atrium Health will hold a Second Harvest Food Bank distribution at Forest City-Dunbar from 5:00-6:00. This is an opportunity for families in our community to receive FREE produce, meat, and dairy. This drive-thru event is open to the public and will be held in the FC-Dunbar parking lot. Cars will line up along the curb in the front of the building and items will be loaded into your vehicle by Atrium Health and FC-Dunbar volunteers.
The Salvation Army will be taking Christmas Cheer applications from October 11 - 14 from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 each day. This will take place at the Salvation Army building at 256 W. Main St., Forest City. Applicants are required to bring a photo ID, proof of income and proof of expenses, identification for all household members (photo ID, passport, Medicaid card, student ID, birth certificate, or government ID), and legal guardians must bring proof of custody. Masks are required for this event.
Students will be allowed to purchase an Icee from the Serendipity Snowballs truck this Friday, October 15 beginning at 12:45. Icees are $2 each. Students are asked to pay and make their choice of flavor before Friday, October 15. Icee flavor choices are Tiger's Blood, Blue Raspberry, Sour Apple or Grape. Please send money with your child before Friday!
Rutherford County School are collecting donations for Toys for Tots to help children in need this holiday season. Donations of $1 will get your child's name on a Toys for Tots cut-out train displayed in the front office.
