Regular School Day Hours for Students – 8:15 am – 3:15 pm
Car riders should be dropped off at the gym entrance. Students can be dropped off as early as 7:40 am.
If your child is a bus rider, we ask for your patience this first week as we get into a routine for both morning and afternoon routes. Please be looking for your bus early the first few days, but also be patient if it runs later than normal. We should get into a good routine by the end of the first week of school. If you have particular questions regarding bus routes, please contact the school.
We ask that you let your child's teacher know whether your child will regularly be a bus rider or car rider most afternoons. Students will always be sent home the way that you indicate as their primary mode of transportation. Bus riders will be taken to their designated afternoon stops unless you indicate a change of bus stop ahead of time. Be aware that we cannot drop students off at unapproved bus stops. Please contact the school well ahead of time to see if changes to your child's bus stop to another location will be approved.
Any changes to a students designated transportation home (bus or car) OR changes to their designated bus stop must be communicated to the school by a note, text, or phone call BEFORE 2:30. We appreciate the notification of changes as early as possible.
Students will continue to be required to wear cloth face masks while at school. There are no longer social distancing requirements. Daily COVID-19 screenings will no longer take place.
Schools continue to be required to follow NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) guidelines for COVID-19 health and safety standards. This includes the need to exclude symptomatic students or students with household exposures to diagnosed COVID-19 cases.
DO NOT send your child to school if they have any of the following symptoms. Additionally, anyone exhibiting these symptoms while at school will not be allowed to stay at school:
- Fever – 100.4 degrees or higher
- Sore throat
- Cough (for people with chronic cough due to allergies or asthma, a change in their cough from baseline)
- Difficulty breathing (for people with asthma, a change from their baseline breathing)
- New loss of taste or smell
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
We still must follow NCDHHS guidelines for quarantine and exclusion form school for individuals who are either exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or who have been exposed (within 6 feet for 15 minutes - cumulative over a 24 hour period) to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
Always contact the school and school nurse if anyone in your household has COVID-19 or has symptoms of COVID-19. The school nurse can give you guidance as to the next steps for your child in regards to attending school.

Parents and visitors are now allowed in the school building. All visitors must wear cloth face masks while in the building. Any visitor to the building must check in at the office and receive a visitor’s sticker. Please bring your driver’s license/ID to register as a visitor or to check out a child anytime you come to school.
While parents/visitors are welcome to enter the building, we will continue to use our office window for quick questions or early checkouts if you desire to do so. Please know that using the window is your choice and for your convenience. Feel free to request entry to the office if desired. Please note that the wooden door to the office will remain locked for security purpose; you will have to wait to be buzzed in by our office staff.
We are excited for the new school year and appreciate the opportunity to teach your child.
