K-3 grade students will be administered the end-of-year Istation assessment this week. This is a state mandated reading assessment given 3 times per year to all K-3 students.
End of Grade Testing is scheduled for May 18-20. 5th Grade Science EOG will be Tuesday, May 18. 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Reading EOG will be Wednesday, May 19. 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Math EOG will be Thursday, May 20. Face-to-face and Remote Only students are scheduled to test these dates. Remote Only students are required to take the EOG test on-site at school.
Invitations to the full-day summer school program will be sent home this week to students who qualify. Summer School will operate June 1 - July 2, Monday-Friday, from 8:00-3:15 daily. Students who commit to attend should plan to attend at least 120 of the 150 hours of the programs operating hours. Students who attend will receive instruction in reading, math, and science. There will be PE activities and some enrichment activities as well. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided, and bus transportation to and from the program will be available. If your child receives a printed invitation and you would like for them to participate in this Summer School program, please return the letter with your signature as soon as possible.
For those who do not receive an invitation to the Summer School program, the Young Scholars will also operate a summer program for up to 150 additional students. The Young Scholars program will operate from June 7- July 2, Monday-Friday, from 8:00-12:30. Students who attend will receive instruction in reading, math, and science. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided, and bus transportation to and from the program will be available. Students who are currently in the Young Scholars after school program will receive an invitation this week to attend the Young Scholars summer program. Parents are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. We will invite other students at a later date, if there is available space.
This Thursday, May 6 will be the last day for the Young Scholars after school program for this school year. The Young Scholars after school program will resume in the new school year sometime in early August.
If your child turns five years old by August 31st, 2021, they are eligible to start kindergarten.
