To Parents of Young Scholars After School Program Students:
Due to recent staffing shortages for both tutor and bus driver positions during the Young Scholars After School Program, we will be moving the After School program to Remote Only beginning Wednesday, December 2. We plan to resume face-to-face After School programming on Wednesday, January 6 when we return from Christmas Break.
During remote after school instruction, tutors will be available to provide continued tutoring and instructional support to your child. This can be done via Zoom meetings if you have internet connectivity. This may also be done over the phone if this works for your family. We understand this may not work for everyone. Keep in mind that your child's spot in the after school program will be protected even if they cannot participate in remote learning.
Your child's tutor will reach out to you this week to discuss the remote learning process and determine your willingness to participate. We must have a contact with a child in some way each day to count for attendance. Please help us to be able to continue to provide this support to your child if at all possible.
Remote program operation will continue to be Monday-Thursday between 3:15-6:16. However, no child will be expected to participate the entire time remotely.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to the return to face to face instruction once we have the personnel to operate safely and appropriately.
