Transportation and Visitor Guidelines

As we have some students return to face-to-face learning beginning October 12 for the first time this school year, we want to make sure you know the procedures for transportation to and from school each day.

Regular school day hours are 8:15 am - 3:15 pm.  Students who arrive after 8:15 are tardy and must be checked in and screened in the office.  Parents of tardy students must bring them to the office to answer the daily COVID screening questions.

Elementary schools had 15 minutes added to the school day this year.  Dismissal is now at 3:15 for FC-Dunbar.

Morning Car Rider Procedures:
-Car riders may be dropped of no earlier than 7:40 am.
-Car riders should be dropped off along the curb near the gym entrance.  They will enter the building at the gym entrance.
-Car riders should remain in their car until their temperature is taken and parents answer the 3 COVID screening questions.  Students who have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher or who answer "yes" to any of the screening questions will not be allowed to enter the building.
-Parents will not be allowed to come in the building to walk their child to class.  We will have staff to make sure each child gets safely to their proper classroom each day.
-Please note that we have special needs buses that drop students at the front of the building during car drop-off time.  It is against state law to pass a stopped school bus.
-See the linked image in this post for a map of the parking lot showing traffic flow in the mornings.

Afternoon Car Riders
-Car riders will be dismissed from the gym door.
-Cars should be in a single line along the curb at the front of the building.
-School staff will call names of students from the cars in the line.
-Please do not come to the office before 3:15 to check out students early to skip the car line.  Any child who has to be dismissed before 3:15 will have to be checked out through the computer checkout system.
-See the linked image in this post for a map of the parking lot showing traffic flow in the afternoons.

Bus Rider Procedures
-Morning Riders MUST have a Bus Attestation Form completed by their parent/guardian EVERY day.  Those who regularly fail to bring their Bus Attestation Form may not be allowed the bus.
-The Bus Attestation Form serves as the COVID screener question responses.  Students temperatures will be taken after the bus arrives at school.  Students who have a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be quarantined from others and parents will be contacted to come pick them up as soon as possible.
-All students will have assigned seats (am and pm) and will be expected to sit in that seat.
-All students should wear seat belts throughout the bus ride.
-Allow for 10 minutes plus/minus of the estimated bus pick up or drop off times provided on the bus pass.
-Assistant Principal Mark Snyder is responsible for bus rider assignments and routes.  Please contact him for any questions or issues you may have regarding buses.

-Students will have a primary method to go home (car or bus) based on what is indicated by their parent.  This can only be changed by parent/guardian by either a note or a phone call.  Any transportation changes should be made before 2:30.

Visitors to the Building
-Visitors including parents and guardians will have limited access to the building in order to provide for COVID-19 regulations.
-Parents / guardians are able to come to pick up students early, meet in the building by appointment, or come for other necessary business.
-Any visitor entering the building should wear a face mask throughout the visit.
-All visitors must be temperature screened and be able to appropriately answer the COVID screening questions each time they visit.
