Return to School for Hybrid Students beginning Sept. 8

We are excited to have Hybrid students physically returning to the building for the first time since March.  We have worked hard to put plans in place to have a smooth and safe start to the school year.  As you can imagine, there are numerous changes that we want you to be aware of:

 

Face-to-Face learning 2 days per week will begin next week for students signed up for Hybrid Instruction.

 

Hybrid students in Cohort A will attend Mondays and Tuesdays.

 

Hybrid students in Cohort B will attend Thursdays and Fridays.

 

Wednesdays will be a remote day for all Hybrid students.

 

Remote only students' schedules will not change.

 

Students in the following homerooms are Hybrid and will attend face-to-face instruction on their designated Cohort days:

Curtis - Kindergarten

Jones - Kindergarten

Wantuch - Kindergarten Cohort A

Wantuch - 1st Grade Cohort B

Greene - 1st Grade

White - 1st Grade

Evans - 2nd Grade

Hill - 2nd Grade

Boling - 2nd Grade Cohort A (note that Boling serves both Hybrid and Remote Only students)

Fowler - 3rd Grade

Hutchins - 3rd Grade

Branch - 3rd Grade Cohort B (note that Branch serves both Hybrid and Remote Only  students)

Marks - 4th Homeroom

Young - 4th Homeroom

Thompson - 5th

VanDyke - 5th

 

Students in the following classes are Remote Only and will NOT be attending school face-to-face.

Bland - Kindergarten

Reynolds - Kindergarten

Brown - 1st Grade 

Rivera - 1st Grade

Hooper - 2nd Grade

Lovelace - 2nd Grade

Boling - 2nd Grade (note that Boling serves both Hybrid and Remote Only students)

Powell - 3rd Grade

Branch - 3rd Grade (not that Branch serves both Hybrid and Remote Only students)

McMahan Homeroom - 4th Grade - While all 3 of the 4th grade teachers teach all students, Mrs. McMahan's homeroom is the only Remote Only homeroom)

McSwain - 5th Grade

 

Morning Car Riders:

Morning Drop-off is between 7:40am-8:15am

Tardy Bell Rings at 8:15. Students who arrive after 8:15 should report to the front office to sign in as tardy.

Students should remain in the car where staff will take their temperature and ask screening questions each day.

Students who pass screening will enter the building at the gym entrance.

K-5 Parents are discouraged from walking children to class.  

PreK parents of car riders are required to park in a lined space and walk your child to the designated door for your child's classroom (Boykins-classroom door / Sersland- Hallway doors coming from the playground).

Afternoon Car Riders:

-Car rider pick-up will be a SINGLE line this year along the curb at the front of the building.

-Car riders will exit the building from the Gym Doors.

-Students will enter their cars along the curbside.

-Parents should NOT park and exit your car to pick up students.  You will be asked to return to your car and get in the car line.

-Parents are discouraged from coming to the office to check out students early after 2:45.  

-PreK parents of car riders are required to park in a lined space and pick up your child from the designated door for your child's classroom (Boykins-classroom door / Sersland- Hallway doors coming from the playground).

Visitor Guidelines:

-Visitors who need to enter the building should park in a lined space and enter the front office door.  Do not park along the curb at the front of the building.

-All visitors who enter the building will have to have their temperature taken and answer screening questions EACH TIME they enter.

-For students who come in after 8:15 or leave before 3:15, parents/guardians are required to check students in tardy or out early using the Lobby Guard Computer in the main office. 

-Visitors are required to wear a cloth face covering at all times when on school grounds.  Those who do not have a face covering will be provided with one. 

 

Screening Procedures for Students, Staff, and Visitors:

-Temperature will be taken and must be 100.3 degrees or less.

-Must answer NO to each of the following 3 questions:

  1. Have you had close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or has any health department or health care provider been in contact with you and advised you to quarantine?
  2. Do you have any of the following symptoms
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • New cough
  • New loss of taste or smell
  1. Since last at school, have you been diagnosed with COVID-19.

 

 

Reminder that all students attending face-to-face instruction must be in uniform each day of physical attendance.
