Welcome Back! Monday, July 17 is the first day of school for the 2023-24 school year. We are excited to have our of our FCD Foxes back and welcome our new students.
A few reminders for you as we begin the new year:
Regular school day hours for students are 8:15-3:15. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:40.
Car riders should be dropped off and picked up at the gym entrance. While we understand that parents often like to walk their children to class the first day of school, please do not plan to walk your child to class everyday. Our staff will ensure that all students get to class safely each day. We want them to learn the routines and become independent as quickly as possible. For safety reasons, any parent or visitor who enters the building beyond the office will have to register on our visitor computer system in the office and get a visitor badge. In order to do so, you will need to bring your driver's license or other form of state issued ID with you to get a pass.
Also, to help us with efficient dismissal procedures, we ask that you stay in your car in the car rider line each day. Please do not come in early to check your child out just to avoid the car rider line. We will get into routines quickly and get your child to you in the car line as quickly as possible. If you ever have to check your child out early, you will have to come to the office and check him/her out through our computer early dismissal system.
FC-Dunbar continues to follow a student prescriptive uniform dress code. Students are expected to come dressed appropriately each day meeting this dress code. You can find details about the uniform dress code at the link below:
If you did not come to Open House last Thursday, please look for information to be sent home with your child asking you to provide updated contact information. We also need you to contact the school to indicate how you plan for your child to get home each afternoon. Once you state whether he or she is a bus rider or car rider, your child will always be sent home the way you indicate. The only way we we will change your child's regularly established transportation home is if we receive a note, phone call or text from you the parent/guardian. Please contact the school BEFORE 2:30 if you would like to change your child's regular transportation plans.
